75lbf Nitrous/Isopropyl Alcohol Bipropellant Rocket

Summary

I am in the process of designing a small bipropellant rocket, and I plan on testing and flying the rocket next summer. The rocket is pressurized using the self-pressurization property of nitrous and a piston to pressurize the fuel (Isopropyl Alcohol). The goal of this rocket was to design a cheap and simple bipropellant rocket to learn about fluid systems, propellant safety, and basic heat transfer. A heatsink chamber was chosen due to its manufacturing simplicity.

How it Works

Due to the goal of simplicity, this rocket is very low performance. A low oxidizer to fuel ratio was chosen to minimize the combustion temperature. This makes a copper heatsink chamber viable. An impinging doublet injector was designed for ease of manufacturing. The rocket uses lightweight custom hydraulic valves.
